Please bathe us in prayer for Friends United Meeting's board retreat, which begins this coming Monday, 7 p.m. Eastern time, in Plainfield, Indiana, and continues through the meeting for worship at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
By "us" I'm not ashamed to refer specifically to Rebecca Mays and me, serving as facilitators. But please also pray for all the people involved--those who will attend (that we may find ourselves a true congregation in the Holy Spirit, experiencing a crucible of love as we consider weighty issues of FUM Quaker identity). Please pray wherever you're led: for the staff of FUM, for others who may experience ripples of blessings from a faithful retreat, for those who drive us here and there, prepare meals, and so on.
Thank you!

I shall pray that you all be kept mindful of the Guide Who led the prophets — as old George Fox advised —
Friends, — Know what the Lord doth require of you, and all
have a sense of that in yourselves, that he doth require;
which is, "to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk
humbly with God."
-- George Fox, letter 351 (1678), citing Micah 6:8.
I will be praying for you too! Please give my warm greetings to Rebecca!
I will be praying for you who are facilitating, the Board members and the staff. May everyone hold loosely their own agendas and listen with open hearts and minds to the Spirit of Christ, and be ready to follow whether or not that is what they would have wanted going in or what might be the inclination of the group they represent.
I have experienced Christ working powerfully at an FUM Board retreat, and I hope this is felt again this week.
Y'all are in my prayers.
Micah
Thanks to all of you!!

"A crucible of love" - I will be praying for you all in that.
